Proposal Preparation

  • Table 3 training data table
  • Table 3 participating personnel as shown in last new or competitive application
  • S10 Table (grants awarded or installed in past five years)
  • Institutional Commitment - Prevent Discriminatory Harassment

  • Per the most recent NIH notice https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-19-056.html “...the information regarding an institutional commitment to ensuring that proper policies, procedures, and oversight are in place to prevent discriminatory harassment and other discriminatory practices is to be included in the same letter with the information about the applicant institutional commitment to the planned program.”

To meet this new requirement we offer a letter template.  Please work with your pertinent Dean or DEO to add the departmental commitment information, as applicable, on your letterhead, obtain the Dean or DEO signature and email the letter to nih@uiowa.edu.  The Division of Sponsored Programs (DSP) will copy to letterhead and obtain the VPR’s signature.

    Institutional Commitment - Family-friendly Environments

  • Should an NIH funding announcement state an "institutional support letter must also include an additional, separate paragraph that describes the institution’s efforts to provide family-friendly environments, accommodations and leave policies" see here for text you can add to the letter. If space is limited you can omit the Charter Committee information.
